Best campaign for beginners?

what is a good campaign that offers a nice balance of hack and slash and intruiging stories and characters and plots basically a perfect D&D module/campaign adventure

me and my friends have been playing for a while now and the story campaigns just fall apart cause they drag on too long
and the hack and slash ones do get boring after a while....
so whats an adventure youve played that has a nice mix of everything
and it doesnt have to a lvl 1 campaign ...something higher might make it more enjoyable as well.....lvl 5 or 6 perhaps.
im just trying to figure out some routes to look into for a new campaign

I'd recommend The Freeport-series from Green Ronin. It features a little bit of everything.

You can download a True20-version of the first part Death in Freeport here. (The print version is d20, though.)

If pirates isn't your thing I'd recommend Red Hand of Doom. A fenomenal module wherein a hobgoblin horde invades a vale inhabited by humans, dwarves and elves. (It's the best adventure I ever ran.) The PCs work against the horde and there is plenty of combat, small to medium dungeons and even room for commando-action if the players likes to lead the way.
