Best Char Gen Utilities?

You can customize some things *AFTER* the NPC has been created, I have not done weapons yet but armor is already done. You can even import the results from Item Designer over to NPC Designer as well.

wow...I've been an avid user of NPCD for over a year and I didn't know this. I need to read the info on the site more often... :o

hehe.. it happens, there was a time there that the amount of updates I was doing was causing many to not keep up.

On the NPC Name list, just right click and you will find quite a few new available options. Same place you can use NPC Designer to create 3x5 index card format of the NPC.

And... they have just said "psych". Not really a voluntary take-back, but it looks like it isn't going to happen, now. Something about the licensor having that call and not going to okay it.

Doesn't make a lot of sense from the licensor's point of view IMO. They lose out on potential sales to all customers who already have etools or pcgen and datasets. Those people won't shell out for ANOTHER utility where they have to buy new datasets all over again. They will get by with what they have.

I personally would rather see you spent time on the interface..

The problem with the generator you are basing your work on, they are completely random.. meaning results that do not make sense. This may or may not be a big deal to you guys but if it were me, I would make sure that anything I spent my time coding was an improvement upon what exists already.

This is just my opinion though :)

Just quickly:

* I believe our generator is going to be a bit 'smarter' than completely random....

* Yeah the UI is still definitely an area that needs some polisihng love, I'm not sure if you've seen 5.10.1 (it's got several UI enhancements over 5.8.1). But I totally agree that more needs to be done. We've even got all of the changes we want done spec'd out. Unfortunately (As Paul has stated earlier), we just can't get any UI coders to stick around long enough :\

On the first note, glad to hear :) Personally I have been waiting for someone else to enter this arena. I am looking forward to seeing this come to light and how you accomplish/handle a few things. Not so much for NPC Designer but more to see the differences between Evolution and PCGen.

Yes, I have 5.10 (Though think 1, not sure off hand).
