D&D General Best D&D Setting?

I like Exandria, though my version is heavily modified. It’s the natural heir to Greyhawk and the Forgotten Realms. Kind of a polyglot D&D setting but with a more cohesive narrative. Plus it has really excellent source books.

Yeah, I do think that it will really matter on what kind of experience you are looking for. Bog standard faux Europe D&D? Sword Coast. Something more specific? That's going to need more information.

Forgotten Realms is clearly the richest and most detailed and maybe the favorite by WotC but this could cause a little fed up, like a superpopular song that becomes "old-fashioned".

Dark Sun is the freshest and most original setting with its own style but it is like incomplete, the metaplot couldn't be ended and today the banning of classes and playable species could be a serious handicap.

Ravenloft is cool but the dark domains are too "small" to allow space for conflicts between supernatural factions.

It depends, as DustyBoots said. What's your vibe? High fantasy? OSR? Something unique? I think the Kobold Press Midgard books is absolutely amazing: huge world with tons of different regions, each with its own history. Check it out!
