Best d20 Publishers?

Hi Everyone,

Who do you think are the best d20 publishers?

I have seen reviews regarding individual products, but none regarding d20 publishers as a whole.

In my opinion, some d20 publishers have excellent track records regarding the quality of their work. The majority of products and books from these d20 publishers is always informative and never gathers dust sitting on the bookshelf.

I have my own opinions regarding who are the better d20 publishers, but I would like to hear what everyone else thinks.

With the multitude of d20 products available, I think knowing who the better d20 publishers are will aid me in future purchases.

Thanks!

:D

Nothing like posing a tough question!

Thunderhead Games and Mystic Eye Games tie for first place, in my rankings. Ooops! Should add Mongoose Publishing too.

See? You make answering this question extremely difficult!

So far my favorite has to be AEG. I've yet to get on of their modules, but their sourcebooks are great. I don't have all their products yet, but they are the only company where I'm completely happy with all of them that I do have.

My favorite would have to be Thunderhead Games, Mystic Eye Games, and AEG (even though I dislike most of their d20 stuff, I really love L5R and their d20 Archer stuff).

I'd vote for Green Ronin's stuff. They don't exactly have a lot of d20 books, but they're all pretty high quality.

It's not d20 exactly (since they licensed D&D from WOTC), but Kenzer's Kalamar modules are probably the best I've seen.

Sword & Sorcery would have made the top of list a couple months ago, but the constant poor editing/layout/printing and ocassional lapse in mechanics judgement have knocked it down a step or two.

Green Ronin has stormed to the top of my list. The are consistent with their interesting material and tight mechanics.

FFG is #1 in my book. Not a single disappointment yet.

AEG comes in 2nd. The sourcebooks are great, but not everything is something I could use. Also, while I have ALL of the Adventure Keep modules, only about 3/4 are usable without having to alter a lot of stuff, which is actually fine by me, since I alter all adventures to suit my needs.

I'll be tasting Green Ronin and Avalanche soon enough, and the only S&S book I have is Relics & Rituals (which is good), and the others have just been... not for me.

My top five:

1. Fantasy Flight Games
2. Mongoose Publishing
3. Green Ronin
4. Fiery Dragon
5. Bastion Press

Right now FFG is out front by a large margin. Green Ronin may pass Mongoose once Freeport: City of Adventure comes out.
