I love that film. I was in a punk band in high school, and we felt like it was made for us. Of course, we were idiots, but then so were the punks in the film. A perfect fit! Also, the soundtrack is top notch.

And tar man is an absolutely great horror effect.

Braaaains!

Send more paramedics...

This was the first zombie movie I saw. I was pretty young and tar man freaked me out

Seems like there are several different kinds of movies on that list, and only some of them strike me as “weird”. Like, Cannibal Holocaust is just gross, while Martyrs is intense and gross but with a distinct purpose that it reaches and fulfills. And I generally only regret seeing bad movies; movies that are high quality but that, for various reasons, I would not wish to watch again are very different.

Unsurprisingly, I have seen most of those! Infinity Pool was really good. Titane was AMAZING!

But I am going to say that Irreversible can be a really really tough watch.

(Is it just me? I was strangely unshocked by Jacob's Ladder. I wanted it to be much freakier.)

I loved Jacob's Ladder, and I did find it shocking in an existential way, but I don't think that or The Unborn (which was also quite good) really match stuff like Audition or Cannibal Holocaust. I think of Jacob's Ladder as this stately psychological/spiritual horror movie, not torture porn lol
