The thing I remember is a particular player whose tactical sense was, well, less than honed, going through a *lot* of PCs in a long, level 1-20 game.
The rest of the group kept his old PC's weapons and named them after their deceased owners. So there was Tempest the longsword (ranger 4, killed by bugbears), Wulfgar the bastard sword (barbarian 5, scarab of death), Raven the quarterstaff (druid 7, vampires), and so on. Alas, the tradition ceased when his latest druid (whose name I forget) was killed in a collapsing demiplane so we couldn't retrieve his weapon. And the player moved to Sydney...
