My favorite probably isn't sutable for new players -- the Black Rain by Monte Cook. It's a great idea, especially if you ben dit to fit your campaign more closely.

Haven't used many but the Burning Plague works well. It's a good adventure for newbies. simple, has a lot of first time experiences (first pit trap, first poison potion, etc.) Doesn't offer a wide variety of monsters, however.

My players had great fun in the brief "Something's Cooking" in which you encounter a Calzone Golem. It was a nice light break from the regular rigamarole.

We had a lot of puns going around - about poking the "dough boy" and killing the "dough-lem." Really fun....

I also used Burning Plague which was pretty good....I modified the adventures to fit in my own world so it's been rather nice....

I like the one about the frost giant castle. There is a mutant 1/2dragon giant all locked up and mad at everyone in it.

Can't remember the name though.

The Burning Plague was the first 3E adventure that I ran, and that anyone from my group played. Its a great, short adventure, and my whole group had a real blast with it.

Oh, the memories...

Another plug for the "Burning Plague". I took my group through it right after they finished a heavily modified conversion of "The Veiled Society" (Basic D&D Module B6). Compared to the pains I took to convert that one to 3E, the "Burning Plague" was a snap and I think that the players got more out of it because it was designed to show them things like pit traps and using ranged weapons to fight enemies who have cover, etc. A great intro. adventure.

black rain

Just to add to commentary on Black Rain, I would like to say just how great an adventure this really is. It will take some tweaking for you campaign, as mentioned above, but if your players are the kind who like to investigate, they are drawn in immediately and play is very smooth.

I also found that the encounters were interesting and challenging, as well as quite appropriate for characters of the listed levels (I don't remember what these are). If you are willing to do a little work, this adventure is a good time. My group and I had a blast! I can hardly believe that it is free.

I liked the Frigid Demise and the other Monte one for a Ice dragon (freezing AND drowning! :) Now that's one mean White Dragon. ;) )
