Best PrC for each Archtype?

Considering all published and available D20 material what are the best (most powerful) PrC classes for Fighter, Wizard, Rogue and Priest types?

We are starting a new campaign and I wanna give my group some possibilities of things to aim for.

Thanks,

Chris

Each of the classes you list can go many different ways. I't not that easy to just list the four best because there are no four best without some specifics.

Which book

In your responses, could you please point out which book its in so that i can go get it :)

As far as specifics - there are none - just in general which do you think is the most powerful by Archtype (this is opinion based so you can have your very own)

Thanks,

Chris

if you are looking for the most piwerful of each class, wouldn't that just be following the individual class progression of each clas-s without any PrC.

If you took a Prc (like assassin for rogue) then you are specializing and deviating from the class- archetype. the generic class is laid out in the PHB. any Prc is for flavor and variation- which is straying from the idea of "core class" and into "specialized class"

Archmage from Forgotten Realms Campaign setting is pretty powerful and generic for wizard. Increasing the DCs on spells to gross levels is fairly powerful.

Duelist from Sword and fist is great for a multiclass fighter wizard or monk wizard. The int dodge bonus is really nice.

Arcane trickster from tome and blood for multiclass rogue wizard or sorcerer.

Peerless Archer from Silver Mashes is really good.

Weapon Master from Sword and Fist is also good.

I don't recall the name but in Traps and Treachery is a rogue prestige class that is great in his home city.

Loremaster is really good for Wizards

Shifter is a great class from MotW.

Well as others have mentioned, one does divert from the general archetype by taking a prestige class. However on can assume a heroic archetype and go with that-
Archer- deepwood sniper from Masters of the Wild - once these get going they are truly sick. Best done if used with a crossbow (or the tiger claw arrows from Kalamar Players handbook)
Melee fighter- Weapon master - Sword and Fist
Enhanced Palladin- templar from Defenders of the Faith
Fire Mage -elementalist from Tome and Blood

I don't think there are any particularly good Cleric ones, and I'm no rogue expert.
