Best RPG buys of 2010?

Well, the Dark Sun 4E stuff was the best, for sure. They took a nice world and gave it a lot of flavor and depth. I espeically like how they explained a lot of the Athas problems with the 4E cosmology.

Deserts of Athas was a fine tile set. Desert and water, odd together, but something the tiles needed.

Martial Power II had a lot of great stuff for warlords.

I did not buy much else this year. 4E stuff, almost exclusively.

Forgot about Dark Sun when I wrote my post earlier. The main book, plus the Creature book, were really well done.

I'm NOT planning on playing or running a DS game, but I love the books nonetheless. Dark Sun is one of my three favorite D&D published worlds -- rounding out with Eberon and Greyhawk.

Savage Worlds was definitely my best buy of the year.

Ditto. This is my first full year of Savaging, and it has been the best gaming for me in a looooong time.

I like the Dragon Age RPG as well, but have not played it.

Castles and Crusades Monsters and Treasures of Aihrde.

I'd like to hear a bit more about this one. What's it like?

C&C Battle Box, I have already had a lot of fun running and playing this!

Link, please?

I really liked the Gamma World boxed set, lots of fun.

I am also enjoying the Dark Sun Campaign Setting for 4e.

Agreed on both of these counts. Absolutely fantastic buys.

I also splurged and got the War of the Burning Sky hardcover. That was just huge.

I managed to get every print issue of the Legends of the Lance newsletters.

Also got Essentials, Psionic Power, and the Pathfinder GM Guide and Bestiary.

I could write a lot about this book, so I'll just say the part I like most is the fluff write ups for each monster, plus most are for higher level encounters. Even though it is named "of Airhde" it is very easy to drop the world names and use them in any setting you wish.

The proper name is Fields of Battle:

Troll Lord Games

Only valid complaint I have seen about this is no guidelines for GP costs of hiring such troops, but I believe that will be covered in the CKG. If not I still have my 1E DMG.

BECMI D&D:
- Rules Compendium -- a great nostalgic book. Amazing that is a complete game, including everything one needs from minor adventurer to immortal. Plus awesome maps of Mystara.

That reminds me, I should mention the clone of this called Dark Dungeons that I bought this year, I am very, very happy with that. Plus it was under $27 (US) plus shipping!

Plus I finally bought the 1E clone, OSRIC version 2.2, and the print version convinced me even more about what I already believed, much better presented, much more clearly written, and this one is VERY thick! Over 400 pages!

I got both of these via Lulu.com, for anyone interested.

My favorite of the year - Delta Green: Eyes Only. Delta Green! Whoo! :D

Other highlights: Pathfinder Advanced Players Guide - two copies, one for me, one for the group (others in the group have bought their own copies since).
Pathfinder Adventure Path Kingmaker (Kingmaker is fairly awesome.) :)
Mantic plastics - Undead and dwarfs, mostly. I am currently running a short introductory campaign in a ghoul haunted forest, it was fun chasing the PCs through the woods with a horde of the hungry dead.
