Best Zombie Flicks?

Prince of Darkness. Not brain eating zombies, but still zombies basically.

Shockwaves. 1970s movie about Nazi SS Zombies. Stars Peter Cushing and John Carradine and the kid from Flipper (grown up) and Brooke Adams (who looks almost like Karen Black's twin sister)

Zombies of Mora Tau - Definitely a B movie, but I quite like it for some reason. 1950s movie, an expedition goes to Africa to search for some legendary jewels, but runs into a zombie problem.

And of course, the original Zombie movie (AFAIK), White Zombie is still pretty creepy.

And the Serpent and the Rainbow is quite interesting. (Interesting book as well).

D'oh, and how could I forget "Versus".

Night of the Comet is also pretty good, as long as you don't take it too seriously.

On a side note, I went to see Romero's Diary of the Dead two weeks ago- and it's not very good at all. Much as I love the man's movies, I can not recommend that one in the least.

My friend saw it, said he liked it better than Land of the Dead...

Return of the Living Dead is the pinnacle of fun zombie movies. Just avoid the sequels.

Frank: Watch your tongue, boy, if you like this job!

Freddy: Like this job?!?!

:D

28 Days Later was good. Haven't seen the sequel yet.

Shaun of the Dead, of course.

I liked I Am Legend, despite the ending.

I agree with all of these.

Resident evil...not so much.

No, there's at least one, a French film, from around 1918-20 that featured actual maimed WW1 veterans as zombies rising to protest to the governments of the world to stop all wars (can't recall the name, right now.) Probably a couple more, I think.

I'll add a few

Zombie (best looking zombies imo)
Cemetary Man (black comedy, and a little metaphysical)
Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things (70's classic with nice mood)
Messiah of Evil (maybe the creepiest zombie flick I've seen)
Breakfast at the Manchester Morgue
Blind Dead films (at least 1,2 and 4, skip pt 3, Templar skeletal zombies!!!!)
Dead Pit
Grave Misdemeanors

the last two aren't on dvd as of yet (at least, I haven't looked lately.)

Pets & Sidekicks
