Bestow Curse Stackable?

The reason ray of enfeeblement doesn't stack is because it's an enhancement penalty. Think of it as the opposite of bull's strength.

This is true in 3.0, but not in 3.5. In 3.5, penalties are unnamed.

I agree that in 3.5 penalties are unnamed and they all stuck when coming from different sources but not when coming from the same source, as a general rule.

You absolutely cannot cast the same curse twice and give a -12 constitution for example.

IMC I let different curses be cast on the same target, so for example with 3 consecutive bestow curse you could give someone a -6 to strength, dexterity and constitution at the same time, but otherwise one of our other DMs has banned it in her campaign because it was effectively quite powerful.

Feh... it's a 4th level wizard spell that requires a touch attack... guess how often *that* will get cast :p

As a third level cleric spell, it's pretty good, but it has to compete with prayer, magic vestment, protection from energy, dispel magic, and other really good spells...

Yeah, it's cool, but really, how many times are you really going to memorize it? 3? No way. Once at *most*... and if you do choose to memorize it three times, you're giving up a lot of versatility.

That's his #1 limitation. Try first casting Spectral Hand and see how lovely it gets ;)

Been contemplating using this with either Reach spell (Complete Divine) or with Archmage levels that allow ranged touch for touch spells.

Mmm.

Of course they'll work too, but Spectral Hand is a 2nd level spell only and lasts the whole battle ;) The feat and the PrCl allows the same only at much higher character level.
