Beyond Bodily Brutality: the Basics of Building Battleminds (By Dedekine)

Magic Items

This section is unlikely to be fleshed out any time soon. There are three reasons for this:

1) Magic items are build-specific. Ronin and Psilent Guardian have almost no items in common with each other. However, Ronin's equipment is very much in common with any other Polearm Momentum build. What you're trying to accomplish with your character determines what items you will want. Providing meaningful advice without everything ending up a sea of purple is a daunting task.

2) Magic items are not battlemind-specific. There are no magic items that give particular bonuses to battleminds alone, and the augmentable magic items are, as a rule, rubbish. In general, there is no item that would be good for a battlemind that isn't also good for any other melee character.

3) Magic items are the part of the game that interest me the least, in all honesty.

Basically, you are generally better off trying to find a build that accomplishes something similar to your aims to provide advice as to useful items. From a general perspective, ratings of magic items from the perspective of a battlemind would not be very different from the ratings in lordduskblade's excellent Fighter handbook(x), and rather than me duplicating effort (and probably in an inferior fashion), I suggest you consult that.
