Big Bang Theory and the Dungeon Master's Guide

Big Bang theory is the BEST!

This is coming from someone that watches Seinfeld without cracking a smile. I can't stand (American) comedies, whether movies or sitcom. Big Bang Theory has me cracking up everytime.

My friends thought it was MOnty Python in Disguise because I was laughing so much.

Here is how I would envision a D&D game to teach Penny going:

Montage of the hours spent helping Penny write up her first PC.

Game starts and comes to halt at the first combat because nobody will let Penny touch their dice. Sheldon ends up in conflict between never letting anybody touch his dice and letting his girlfriend use them.

Toss in a double entendre by having Penny refer to Sheldon's d20s as "balls."

They would NEVER use the Essentials Line.

They'd use the most hardcore rules they could find :P

Oh certainly, and I am sure most real-life Sheldons play GURPS or something like that...

But, as product placement, it would be in WotC/Hasbro's best interests to purchase product placement for their "introductory" line.

Wil Wheaton (playing himself) has also been on the show as an antagonist to Sheldon. Funny stuff.

Awesome episodes. WW was on the show at least twice; once for that card game tourney and once for bowling. I loved them both and I didn't care much about Star Trek: Next Generation.

The one tonight had Sheldon backing up his computer and reinstalling Linux. I don't believe they mentioned distro. So I wonder what version of Linux Sheldon would use. Some part of me says Sheldon would use BSD instead of Linux.

I still haven't seen the DMG on the show yet...

Sheldon mentioned Ubuntu on one of the episodes this season.

Ubuntu is extremely popular so I can see that. I don't know how geeky/nerdy it is*. It does makes sense Sheldon would setup a multi-boot on his computer; never satisfied, always tinkering or calculating something.

*The server version of Ubuntu, at least, I find to be a weird version of Debian. I like Deb at lot since it rarely changes.
