Big City Books?

The old Waterdeep boxed set City of Splendors was pretty ahead of it's time.

The various Volo Guides had numerous bits of interesting lore.

The Free City of Haven was a nice city.

The old City State of the World Overlord had some neat stuff.

Carse and Tulan by the old Midkemia Games got some use in my games.

I also heartily recommend the Cities of Harn supplement from Columbia Games, containing approximately 6 cities. Top notch work, and easily adapted to any campaign world.

Loads of edition-independent Greyhawk goodness... maps, magic, mysteries, mechanics, and more!

Seven Cities is a really nice value.

Foul Locales, from Mystic Eye Games, had some darned useful stuff.

Also, Backdrops, from Atlas Games as well, had several very good drop-in small location maps.

City-State of the Invincible Overlord was reissued, IIRC, and I'm awaiting getting a copy of that!

It's not a "map" product, but I enjoyed Mike Mearls' Cityworks.

Finally, there is of course Ptolus.

You might want to check out Yggsburgh, by Troll Lord Games. It's written by Gary Gygax himself.

I recently got it, and while I haven't fully digested it yet, I can say it's full of info - just about every bit of info a person could think of.

I second all of these. As a matter of fact with just Seven Cities and Mearls' CItyworks alone will give you enough material for many interesting cities and City based encounters.

I just realized that the Cityworks book you guys are talking about is one from the Fantasy Flight Games' Legends & Lairs series. I didn't realize that Mearls penned this one until I pulled it off my digital shelf (pdf).

These books are awesome and every so often FFG has a $5 sale and the hardbacks and PDFs are available for a MAJOR bargain. I have all of them, actually and even most of them in PDF as well.

I really can't say enough about this book too. It's a great bargain.

Lost City of Barakus has Endhome in it. I've gotten serious mileage out of Endhome. Durbanford (sp?), also by Necromancer, has good material.

Dungeon is definitely the best, though. Seems like I have hundreds of villages and towns to flesh out my campaign worlds with, and a dozen or two cities.
