Had a chance to see Big Fish the day after Christmas. Seems to me that anyone interested in the meaning and purpose of myth and folklore ought to give it a look-see.

It doesn't start here till Jan 9th, but after I first say a preview of this movie I wanted to see it more then RotK or any movie that has been released in the past five years.

The previews made me wish I didn't have a big family of inlaws to take up my xmas so I could go back to the college plan of a movie and chinese food... ;)

Still haven't had a chance to see it with holidays and work, but it better be soon... maybe now that the hubby has gotten RotK out of his system I can arrange a new years day trip....

say, has anyone caught who's doing the soundtrack? prolly not elfman, sadly, or I'd think he'd be getting big enough billing for me to catch it...

Fantastic movie. We scored tickets to the premier here in Birmingham (it was shot on location in Montgomery). 2nd best movie I've seen this year - after RotK :).

Elfman DOES do the music. He and Burton are joined at the hip or something. Also, Eddie Vedder is up for a Golden Globe for Best Song - it plays over the credits at the end.

Also, go read the book. It's only ~150 pages and it's an easy 150. The book and movie diverge in a number of places and both are time well spent.

Eddie Vedder? Lead singer of Pearl Jam. "Jeremy spoke in claaaaaass today." Ring any bells?

BTW: Not one of Weird Al's better songs. Would have been much funnier about 3 or 4 years earlier.
