Bioware - anyone really notice something?

Heh. Now that I look at it, it is a little spoilerific. :) Didn't realize I'd gone into such a plot-specific rant, there.

For the record, I can't exactly give away the plots of future games, but I can note that while the Bioware folks are always going to make your character special in some way so that there's a reason why you have to be the one fighting the big bad guy in the end, the next few games from us won't have amnesia or "You were born with a destiny" as a major plot device. They're generally trying to go with "You are special because you're a really capable, dedicated, cool person, and that's why you're the only one who can fight the Lava-lich!"

(Oh, dang. I wasn't supposed to bring up the Lava-lich. Please forget I said anything. Igneocromancers? Nonsense word. Magmaphylacteries? Totally unimportant to the plot of the next Bioware game.)

So the handwaving will be different, but the Bioware CEOs are pretty attached to the notion of the hero being special in some way, both because they believe most players like that and because it makes it easier to construct plotlines if the PC is special in some way.
