I wish it was something other than an MMO, actually. A more straightfoward KotOR3.
Bioware does have Mass Effect coming out at the end of November. It's basically Kotor 3 with the serial numbers filed off.

I'm going to have to disagree politely with this statement... :)

It has no resemblance to Star Wars at all, except that it's in space... and there are multiple planets and some alien races... but the core of what Mass Effect is will be drastically different and superior to Kotor, and as sacreligious as this sounds, I bet the core story of Mass Effect and the story it tells will be superior to anything ever told in a Star Wars movie or novel or comic book.

Just my opinion.

Popularity aside of course, usually the most popular things tend not to be the best.

I'd rather see a Mass Effect MMO than a Star Wars MMO.

If Atari decided to do so, Bioware could license a title, but they have not. Atari has done this in the past with Turbine for DDO.

After further thoughts this wouldn't likely happen since EA owns Bioware.

OK. Thanks for the clarification. Party is over I guess... :\ You personally have any idea on what they might be working on?

I had dinner with some folks from EA last week and they were not talking about it when I asked.

Based on what I have read in the thread and asking co-workers opinions it seems like KotOR is a good bet but this is only based on speculation.

I disagree. There's a strong correllation between popularity and quality.

Unless your tastes are significantly different from other peoples, of course. Since "best" is not a qualitative description of something.

If it's Star Wars, methinks it's doomed to get blown out of the water in a few years:

Blizzard: New MMO?

Oh, you -know- it's Starcraft.
There's room for lots of MMORPGs in the marketplace. I think KOTORO will do just fine, even if Blizzard comes out with World of Diablo or Worlds of StarCraft.

World of Warcraft II won't be in the offing until they're well underway on Warcraft IV, since they need to move the storyline and status quo forward by a good bit, and the War4 team is almost certainly mostly the same folks working on SC2 and its expansion right now.
