Sticky Fingaz, huh? LOL. Who the hell can respect an actor with a name like that? I wonder where he got his fingers all sticky, lol--it sure wasn't from taking a dip in the talent pool! :p

Yes, the actor playing Blade does not have the grace to carry off the combat and his actting is a tad bad. He does not have charisma or screen presents, he is just a plot point to save the day for the other characters and provide action and then out of screen.

The lead female, I think is a good actor plus is attractive (it is Spike TV), so I don't have a problem if she steals the show, her story line of the 'undercover cop, too deep' has a lot of promise, becoming a vampire and living the life of one while trying to stay human, a lot to work with. ;)

The big bad, also is a good actor. His plus is that his character is actting more like a vampire lord should and not some thug/madman. He reminds me of the evil vampire from Forever Knight.

Now, the overall plot does seem to be thin but then it is taking material from the movies and just expanding it over 13 weeks. I think I will be checking it out again but will not be something I have to catch.

3/5 stars.

It wasn't as good as Blade or Blade 2, but it was miles ahead of the awful Blade Trinity (being forced to watch House Of The Dead over and over again while being kicked in the groin would be better than that).

I thought the actor playing Blade was okay, but I really didn't like the female lead. I thought she was too cliched (I can shoot a gun, I was in the army!).

I did think it was interesting that they mentioned werewolves (and I think the blonde vamp girl also said to stay away from houses marked with "Lycan" symbols). I was wondering if Blade was going to stick to vampires or expand itself to other threats (like Buffy).

Maybe he is a Rolling Stones fan? One of their albums is named that. Though in that context, it does seem an even odder name...

Yeah I couldnt believe they cast my boy from onyx for this movie. There weren't any other unemployed rappers. Reminds me of the joke from Scary movies about good black actors not being ableto find jobs because of out of work rappers.

Supposedly Michael Jai White was the other choice. However, I've read rumors (mostly from IMDB) that he either turned it down because the focus of the show would actually be more on the vampire lady (from a post in March, and that turned out to be true in the pilot, anywya) or that he failed the screen test for it. Also that David Goyer originally wanted to cast a rapper for the lead role in the movies, so this closer to his true vision of Blade than Wesley Snipes. Take your pick of reasons.

The more I think about it, the more the show reminded me of Forever Knight. I also wonder if it's really more of a re-boot, or something like The Crow the TV series, which sort of re-tells the basic story from the movies, rather than continuing it. It makes a lot more sense if its the former.

IIRC, the one 'vampire expert' the lady went to [I think the only char's name I remember is blade...] mentioned the old guy that Blade worked with in the first two movies. If so, that would make this a continuation, right? Since the old guy had died in the second movie?

Side note: I miss Forever Knight. The main guy was okay, but I really liked the other two Vampires that he knew, the lady and the pale vampire who IIRC had a radio show or something like that.
