How about the cleric has learned it 5 times.

Keeping in mind, of course, that he would have to be at least 19th level with a Wisdom of 24, and use up all of his 7th-level spell slots just for this one spell. Right.

Anyway, Death Ward wouldn't protect you against this spell. Just because something kills you doesn't mean that it's a Death effect. Death effects are generally labelled as such with the [Death] tag. A Fireball could very easily kill you instantly- but it's not a death attack unless it has some sort of indication as such. It isn't a negative energy effect, either.

Sonic immunity wouldn't help either- it only applies to sonic damage. This spell doesn't cause damage, and therefore wouldn't be affected.

Just one recent example of how one round of daze can equal TPK;

evil cleric moves into room with PCs and casts Blasphemy...

...evil cleric's rogue friends all move into flanking positions and sneak attack.

TPK avoided by Good cleric with Spell Immunity to Blasphemy, casting Miracle to get all party out of dodge!

How so? Unless the PCs are first level, 1 round of free attacks vs a dazed party isn't going to kill everyone. You can only coup d'grace helpless opponents, and dazed is not helpless.
A full round with one side being completely unable to fight back pretty much ends a battle, at high levels. At least half the party will be dead by the end of that 1 round, if they're facing equivalent enemies.

And why wouldn't an evil cleric take Blasphemy a couple times, if he knows he'll be facing non-evil enemies? Destruction might take out one person, but Blasphemy takes out everyone.

Death Ward protects against more than death spells, though.

It protects against "death spells, magical death effects, energy drain, and any negative energy effects."

Why wouldn't it work?

15th level and evil domain is all you need (and Wis 18+). :)

Because blasphemy is not a death spell (= spell with the [death] descriptor), a magical death effect (still no [death] descriptor; that's really meant for stuff like the bodak's death gaze, tho), energy drain, nor negative energy attack.

That's at least how I read it.

I highly doubt that in a single round, a group of rogues each getting one attack could kill an entire party. If they were 19th-level Rogues, they could each get a +10d6 Sneak Attack in, for a maximum of 120 damage to a single character per pair of rogues. But if you're sending in dozens of 19th-level Rogues to attack a party, I think you kinda brought the TPK onto yourself.

If they weren't Dazed, what would be different? The Rogues would probablywin initiative anyway, and in a single round they could do just as much damage as they would have if they hadn't been dazed. Sending ELs over 20 against a party and expecting the PCs to survive isn't always logical.
