The Jester article requires a subscription.

The interview with Kim was a bit of a fluff piece, since it appears he does not remember much from back then, but it was interesting none the less.

People have said that Jester doesn't require a subscription, that users simply need to log out and try again, but I'm as logged out as can be, and it's still insisting (in hilarious fractured English) that I need to be a subscriber.

Oops. It does not have the DDI icon, but ya, its asking for a sign in. Oh well.

Not sure which side the error is coming from...I will check later to see if there is a change.

It is cute that Wizards does all the nostalgia. Its as if they feel older fans that supported them left in droves for games more like older editions...

As if they think a Larry Elmore box cover or a fond article memory could bring those players back.

The interview with Kim Mohan and the Jester article was great though.

However this is not the 400th issue of Dragon. Dragon Issues ended sometime around 2008. It is simply a collection of digital information.

It looks like you have a different understanding of "magazine" than my dictionary does:

magazine |magəˈziːn|
noun: a periodical publication containing articles and illustrations, typically covering a particular subject or area of interest

You might not be interested in digital content, and you are entitled to that view. But a periodical publication in digital format is still very much a magazine. Digital issues of Dragon are still issues of Dragon magazine.

Can you still download an issue and save it offline? If so then yes it is an electronic magazine. If you have to be logged in whenever you want to view content then no it is not.

Yes, you can download the content from the digital issues and view it without being logged in. From the beginning of 2011, the individual articles aren't being compiled into a single downloadable PDF each month (which is annoying), but all of the articles can still be downloaded and saved.
