It's an argument for making an intelligent decision about which formats are most useful in an online environment.

It was a decision to limit piracy and people being able to trivially pass around the content to others with dont have a subscription

edit: I was also able to view these articles without being a subscriber, so that issue might be fixed.

You think that their decision to stop compiling every month's articles into one big PDF file is somehow an effort to stop piracy? No way. Anyone with access to the articles can spend all of three minutes opening all the individual articles in a PDF editor, combining them into a single PDF, and distributing that to whichever pirate network they want.

Three minutes.

I don't think anyone at WotC feels like this is curbing piracy. The added effort of reformatting, paginating, and adding a ToC to both magazines each month probably had a lot more to do with why they stopped than any piracy concerns did.
