D&D General Blessing of the Lone Champion: what's the best pick for a solo adventurer?

So this Dragon Delves touches upon the possibility of running a game with one player plus one DM.

Riddle me this: assuming they get juiced up a little by the Blessing of the Lone Champion, what sort of character would be best / most fun?

Off the top of my head . . .

A lone ranger, so to speak. Might want the Skilled feat to cover some of the social skills. Beastmaster would give him some company.

A paladin as the solitary questing knight archetype. Summon Steed, so he has someone to watch him do cool stuff.

A rogue / arcane trickster could be fun, and has a good mix of skills and spells and slipperiness, but you don't have that buddy helping you set up sneak attacks. Can a familiar do that?

A bard does that jack-of-all trades schtick better than anyone. A level of fighter and a Dex-build and a rapier would be pretty hip.

I would argue that a Paladin or Bard are the most self sufficient characters, they basically bring everything to the table. They can fight, heal, and brings all of the social skill power you might need.

If your DM allows the Swashbuckler subclass for the Rogue, that seems like it could be a lot of fun. Sneaking around all over the place, with Inspiration rerolls when you need them. When you get into combat you have THP for survivability, and no need for an ally nearby to get your sneak attack. Plus, with the right Ability Score distribution/Skill selection, you could have the necessary social skills for that pillar.
