Blighter Wildshape

Targos

First Post
Has anybody used the blighter and understand how its wildshape works?

Does the blighter gain the undead immunities?
Does a skeletal wolf still have scent?
Can a skeletal eagle still fly?
Does a skeletal tiger still get the full attack routine or just the 2 claws of the skeleton?

I'm not clear if this a strong or weak ability

As far as I know:

Does the blighter gain the undead immunities?

-- No. The Blighter's creature type doesn't change, just a like a druid's type doesn't.

Does a skeletal wolf still have scent?

-- No. A wolf that is animated becomes a Medium or Small skeleton. It retains no wolfiness.

Can a skeletal eagle still fly?

-- Technically, no...but I would probably Rule 0 it and say yes. Why? Cuz it adds variety. As for how...IT'S MAGIC!

Does a skeletal tiger still get the full attack routine or just the 2 claws of the skeleton?

-- Normal skeleton attacks. 2 claws. No rending or biting. Though you could probably add the bite if you wanted. It does still have sharp teeth. *shrug*

It sounds like the wildshape of a blighter is pretty lame. Even a huge skeleton gets just an 18strength with d8 for claws compared to the regular druid that can strengths as high as 30 with a lot more damage plus other special abilities of animals.

Well, you know the motto:

"Don't mess with Mother Nature."

Blighter is kind of a "punishment" class in some ways. You can only get it if you were a druid, and went bad.

Definitely looks weighted as an NPC PrC to me, but...there we are.

If you want to keep your Wildshape: Dire bear, then keep your druid vows. ;)

Yeah when I make my NPCs I want them to suck so bad they have to be 10 levels higher than the pcs to offer a challenge. Honestly if that's the intent of the boghter prestige class then they screwed up making it. I say use the animals normally but give them d12HP no con and undead immunities.
