Blind Master Prestige Underpowered

Of course, nobody has yet mentioned the blind master's single most pronounced weakness.

An enemy cleric attacks the blind master and *slaps* a 'cure blindness' spell on him. Wham! No more character concept! Bye bye prerequisites!

Hee. Imagine going 10 levels as a blind character, focusing all of your feats and skills into that direction and then suddenly being able to see.

Cure Blindness only works if you actually have eyes. Also, it's a 5 level prestige class.

You could use a staff that unlocks with a twist to form a three-section staff (which is an OA monk weapon, IIRC). I saw one in a martial arts demonstration once -- was quite cool to see someone fighting with a "bo" that suddenly unlocked into the three sections.

And for your eyes... You really need a pair of dark glasses or eyepatches that cast darkness a couple of times a day.

The old man with the cane and the dark glasses suddenly turns out the lights and flurries on the bouncer! :)

I'm going to have to find Quintessential Monk now -- I've been debating doing a PrC of my own along these lines.

The ideas just keep getting better and better...

I love the thought of maxing out my breaking technique, and that Legendary Form makes it all the better. Maybe throw a couple of ranks toward Knowledge Architecture, and Thunder Step like crazy. I laughed out loud at the picture of a group of armed soldiers rushing a blind man, only to have the floor dropped out from under them with a single, well placed kick.

Cougar.
I like your take on the roles of the PC as well as DM when dealing with this character. It would make sense for people to "brush off" the blind guy in combat, leaving the character open for some devastating trickery. And playing up the weakness would just add to it's effectiveness. Maybe its time for a radical character switch... :)

The hidden 3 sectioned staff would further the total effectiveness of this already deceiving character. But then again, so would the sight of an unarmed, blind man who hits as hard as any sword. So many possibilities.

This character is really turning into something that I am growing to love, and I haven’t even played it yet. Thanks for all your ideas, and keep em coming...

Hey, I've always loved the concept, and I see how good the ideas are here. I guess I'll just need to check out the Quint Monk. :)

One thing is for sure: This would Rock for a solo game character.
