Blindsight and Deeper Darkness

Bobbystopholes

First Post
So, here I am about to play a tournament with (4) 9th level characters. A Human Cleric of Osiris (Me), a Dwarven Fighter, an Elven Rogue, and a Human Diviner of Ra. We are all from Mulhorandi and have our back story of why we are even outside the country.

A tactic I've developed is casting Deeper Darkness upon a dagger or other object, keeping it in my Heward's Handy Haversack and pulling it out, releasing the darkness when needed. I will have a wand of Blindsight (actually, the Wizard probably will since it will be much cheaper!). This will give each person in our group Blindsight for 7 hours at a whack, letting us see in the Deeper Darkness. If our foe isn't a Devil or Dragon, we will have an obvious advantage over them.

There are also advantages over Improved Invisibility:
1) Duration
2) See Invisibility will not see us
3) Cheaper Wand

Is there something I've missed that won't allow this combination? Whether it be rules or something that a Cleric of Osiris (Essentially a Hound/Police Officer of Osiris) wouldn't do.

Thanks in advance.

Only if the wizard made it himself. Otherwise, there's no adjustment in price.

Nope. Perfectly legal.

K, it is a Cleric 4 spell or a Wiz/Sor 3, that's why it would be cheaper ;)

Then you'll love to hear this. When you buy a magic item from a shop or find it as treasure, the cost of the item is calculated based upon the cheaper of the casters. The only time a wand is priced based upon the more expensive of the casters is when no other caster is available, meaning the wand is more expensive because of roleplay elements.

Ah, I'm not worried about the dispels. The group rolled really well and has some good players. The blindsight and darkness will just make it easier ;)

I can touch with a Slay Living as well with Blindsight as in Full Daylight. Gotta love touch attacks!

There's one disadvantage over invisibility, in that people will be able to see the darkness coming.

True, but, because of the Heward's, I can pull the stone (or whatever I use) out of the backpack as a free action. If we are in the thick of battle, it's a little late!
