Blizzard Pass - your experiences?

Quasqueton

First Post
Forty-second thread of a series on the old classic Dungeons & Dragons adventure modules. It is interesting to see how everyone's experiences compared and differed.

Wow. I think this is a first. No one played this one? I beleive this was the first solo adventure module published by TSR.

I played it, or at least part of it way back, but I don't remember anything about it.

Shall I open this thread to discuss *any* solo adventure module?

I remember skimming through it in a store, going "meh", and buying something else. :)

good call. I got it for free at a used bnook store since they couldn';t figure out what to charge for it. And I still don't like it.

I found this at a friend's house a few weeks ago, and tried to play through it. Alas, the pen no longer worked, and many of the paragraphs that were visible were too faint to read. I know there's a project on the web that has some of the paragraphs written out; does anyone know if it's still being maintained? I typed up the visible paragraphs in my book and e-mailed them to the guy, but there's been no reply.

I used to have this - I'd forgotten all about it!

Yeah, it was pretty lame really - mostly a bunch of low-mid level ice-themed monsters (I think ogres played a role, as did ice wolves).

You got to play the solo in the typical "If you do this turn to paragraph xx" system, except that in this case you used a specail pen to reveal the text. At the back the adventure was laid out as a standard module for group play and it took about three pages (including one for the map), which tells you how un-complex it was.

I really don't recall any features of the adventures (which is rare for me). I think somewhere you could fall down a chute into a remorhaz lair, but I could be wrong.

i was away for my birfday that week.

yup, the pen ran out of ink before i finished. same with the next in the series.

I played it a long time ago. I remeber it being railroady, even for a reprogramed adventure. It really would have been much better as an Endless Quest book. The brief write-up and map after the adventure would be OK as a low-level adventure, but nothing special.

as a kid I never had anyone to play D&D with so I really enjoyed this solo game. But a computer RPG game is better then this.
