Blood and Fists: Hong Kong Knights playtest report

Not sure if I should start a new thread or not, but well, we'll see.

I noticed some things in the new BnF:HKN that should be errated/added. I didn't keep a list as I read through it, so I'll probably have to come back and edit this post.

1) All the new feats that add defense from an attribute don't say that it only works in melee, like Banter and Poise did from the original.

hmm, Ok, I'll have to edit this later as I can't remember what else I noticed.

But in any case, I wanna say I really enjoy this BnF, well both of them actually, and think they are some of the coolest d20 products I've bought in awhile.

Thanks,

Tellerve

Thanks a lot man :)

And you are right, the feats in this book should work like Banter and Poise, so you caught one. Im sure there are more, but I hope not :)

Ok this actually pertains to the updated BnF, not BnF:HKN. There are block, improved and Improved block, same with counterstrike. But which one should be the appropriate one? Also, in Block, Improved's listing it says that they can block multiple attacks with an AoO. Where do you get that AoO except for when someone attacks you and you block with a weapon? Is there any other time?

As for BnF:HKN, question about the Balance:Footwork, or at least in part. Whare are unarmed strikes considered? I believe they were Tiny in Dnd, so I'm guessing they are in modernd20 as well.

Also, do the +2 to Concentration and Escape Artist stack with each other for multiple takings of the T'ai Chi feat?

more ?s I'm sure to come

p.s. Getting close to being done with my revision of Wing Chun, just gotta figure exactly how I want Chi Sao/Chi Gerk and Muk Yan Jong to work.

The AoO for any blocking maneuver (if you are entitled to one) is triggered by a melee attack.

Unarmed strikes are all below medium size- remember the benefits are only rated in terms of below medium and larger than medium.

As an optional rule I consider "inside" attacks to be small and "outside" attacks like Hook to be large when both combatants are unarmed- this simulates real combat pretty well but was deemed too complicated.

When you take Tai Chi multiple times you do indeed get the skill bonus each time.

Too funny.

I'd like to thank JPL and Ledded for the help they gave on BNF II, they made a very significant contribution.

And if anyone has any questions, Im happy to help (as I imagine are JPL and Ledded).

Anytime, my friend, anytime. We had a blast playing with it, they're some of the best d20 Modern supplements written for the game.

And if you are reading this and have not already picked up BnF 1 and 2, then what the heck are you waiting for?!?

Okay, how did it slip by me that this one is out?

Sheesh, I gotta keep my finger to the wind more these days. This isn't the first project I was waiting for that slipped by me...
