Bloodstone Pass for 3.5

A few weeks ago I agreed to run the Bloodstone series for our 3E group. I've been hesitant to dig into it mostly because I don't want to read through the Battlesystem book to learn that just for a few fights. :) In fact, I'm leaning towards telling the guy who asked me to run the series that I'll do it if he wants to run the battles for me. ;)

I want to know; does anyone know of a workable conversion for the H series and/or Battlesystem? I'm looking for the simplest way to get this done. Any ideas?

Well, I've used Adamant's Narrative Combat for mass combat in the past. Not sure if it works in this context since I don't know what the mass combat in the series involves or what it's purpose is, or how involved the PCs are with the battle.

You could fake it using 3e's Victory Point system (detailed in Heroes of Battle, a vastly underrated book imho). Prolly wouldn't be as satisfying as actually playing everything out, but you could make something workable, I bet.

Totally agree... both with "faking it" using the victory points mechanic and with the fact that Heroes of Battle was grossly underrated.

Another option is to grab Savage Worlds: Explorer's Edition and use their one page mass combat system to resolve the battles. Brilliant.

I'll have to have a look at Heroes of Battle then, in fact someone else mentioned it to me already. :)

Miniature's Handbook has a mass combat system in the back. I never used it, so I can't comment on how well it works/doesn't work.

AEG put out a book called War that could be used to handle narrative mass combats. Its somewhat similar to the VP system in Tome of Battle, but I believe it has more meat to it than the rather skeletal Tome of Battle's system (fiat played a big role in whether you got enough VPs to "win" a scenario in ToB).
