Board times an hour out?

Possibly due to various parts of the world changing over to daylight savings time at different times, or not at all in some cases.

I'm pretty sure that the board times are correct.

Originally (and I'll call this the Dragongirl dilemma), the server time was an hour off. As a result, everyone set their GMT adjustment an hour off to compensate. When I had them reset the time after a server crash, everyone who had purposely mis-set their GMT adjustment were showing wrong times again.

Now, we just went off of (or on to? I never remember) Daylight Savings Time. If you're in a state or country where it doesn't apply, you may show a different time.

Well, I'm in Australia, and we just went back to Standard time as of the last weekend in March. However, the problem didn't arise until a couple of days ago.

PC, doesn't your job have something to do with advising people who work odd hours and/or rotating shifts? If you do not fully understand Daylight Saving Time, is there any hope for the rest of us?

The problem is that the Forum time wasn't an hour off. GMT never changes. Countries that use DST switch to the new time by moving themselves relative to GMT. Even though the Prime Meridian passes through the UK (so we're usually GMT +0), once DST comes into effect, we switch to BST, which is GMT +1.

So in fact, the forum time is an hour off now.
