Bone Colossus Stats?

Marimmar@Home

First Post
Hi,

does anyone know where I can find stats for the Bone Colossus from Q1 Queen of the Demonweb Pits?

Alternatively can anyone point me to a monster that is essentially large and constructed from multiple skeletons?

Any hint would be appreciated.

I don't know about the bone colossus, but I think there are a few creatures similar to what you want.

Gargantuan:
The boneworm.
The necronaut (MM3)

Huge:
The Boneyard (Libris Mortis)
Maybe the Charnel Hound (MM3)

Thanx for the help Otu! :)

BTW here's the description from Q1:

Standing about 200 yards away is a large giant-type figure, bone
white in color, about 30' tall.

The gigantic white creature is a bone colossus (AC 0, MV 12",
HD 10, hp 45, #AT 1, D 4-14, regenerate 3 hp per round, immune
to cold, sleep, charm, and hold spells, edged weapons do half
damage), a being created from the joining of many skeletons. At
closer inspection, many different types of bones may be seen
jutting from the body. In one hand it holds a bone club. Total
dismemberment will not destroy the colossus; the bones that form
it will move back together and rejoin, creating it anew. Fire and
acid damage are permanent. Once the colossus is reduced to 0
hit points, 10 rounds (1 turn) will be required before the creature is
reformed. A cleric may turn the creature as if it were a "special"
class of undead.

Level Adjustment: -

Undead regeneration (Ex): Can reattach lost limbs instantly, and regrow them over the course of <time>. Cannot heal fire or acid damage. Not destroyed if reduced to 0 or less hp, unless it is fire or acid damage.

Normally, I'd just give it fast healing and vulnerability to acid and fire instead of the undead regeneration, but if you want to keep the undead regeneration, try it out. Remember that this is just a quick hacking stats together, though...

Hmmm... (copy, paste, save)

Quite cool :), I just filled in some gaps...

Standing before you is a large giant-type figure, bone white in color, about 30' tall. At closer inspection, many different types of bones may be seen jutting from the body. In one hand it holds a bone club.

The gigantic white creature is a bone colossus, a being created from the joining of many skeletons.

Bone Colossus, Huge Undead: HD 10d12 (65 hp); Init -1; Mv 30' (6 sq.); AC 20 (T 7, FF 20); Attack Huge bone club +13 (2d6+10); Grapple +23; Space/Reach 15'/15'; SA -; SQ Darkvision 60', fast healing 5, immunity to cold, turn resistance +4, undead regeneration, undead traits, DR 5/bludgeoning; Save Fort +3, Ref +2, Will +7; Abilities: Str 31, Dex 8, Con -, Int -, Wis 10, Cha 1; Skills: -; Feats: -; CR 8; AL N
Undead regeneration (Ex): Can reattach lost limbs as a standard action, and regrow them over the course of 10 minutes. Cannot heal fire or acid damage. Total dismemberment will not destroy the colossus; the bones that form it will move back together and rejoin, creating it anew. Fire and acid damage are permanent. Once the colossus is reduced to 0 hit points, 10 minutes will be required before the creature is reformed.

I would reccomend a few more HD or give it the bonus HP of a construct for its size.

Also fast heal 3 is low for 3.x D&D, probaly 5 would be better

Fast healing 5 is appropriate for 3E, after all th trolls have fh5 as well (included it in the statblock). I don't want to tamper with the HD though. According to the MM2 the minimum HD for a Huge undead is 4d12, so 10d12 is okay and fits the description in Q1. One thing to change though is the advancement entry:
Advancement: 11-15 HD (Huge); 16-30 HD (Gargantuan)

The MM2 states that 16HD could be a Gargantuan creature and the bone colossus already is quite large for its size (32' being the maximum for a Huge creature).

Here's a fitting picture for it:
