book of formulas?

Has any of the mathematically inclined thought of publishing a book of the various formulas used to calculate things like average damage with weapon X vs. Armour class Y, using various levels of power attack?

Would there be a market for such a book?

OK, why would anyone want such a book? The only people that are going to be interested in that sort of data can calculate it themselves.

Why would yoiu want a book when people have already done it for free on the net?

My question is, where can i get it?

I lost all my link recently, and looking for any help in getting my vast amount of game links back. Help me here.

edit: added URL, duh.

More interesting I think would be a small, maybe 5 page, pdf that did the formula for many of the mechanics. Even repeat those that are in the books.`

Since right before D&D 3rd edition came out I have (on and off) been deriving formulas for the various tables and creating statistical spreadsheets to analyze the mechanics of combat and the game in general.

The purpose of it all,...I don't know. I guess just because these activities can give you some insight into why the designers created the mechanics the way that they did. Other times I can gather they didn't give the math too much thought. Ultimately its a hobby that might lead to writing an rpg myself.

I like coming across articles gamers write on the internet involving an analysis of the game. I don't think an actual book would be of much interest to gamers though.
