Greetings,

Just wondering about the bloodstorm blade's returning ability and the cost to activate it.

Do you expend a maneuver everytime you throw a weapon you want return to you or do you expend a maneuver at the start of combat to turn a single weapon into a returning one for the duration?

The text is a bit unclear, but based on the text under Blood Wind Ricochet (where it says you "lose the use of one Iron Heart strike" even though you are making multiple attacks as part of the action), it appears that the intent was that expending one maneuver would allow you to do the returning thing for one action. Certainly not "one maneuver per combat"!

At the first BSB level, you can throw one weapon and have it return to you just before the start of your next turn. At 4th BSB level, the weapon returns immediately, so you can make iterative attacks with it. At 5th BSB level, you can do the same thing, except the weapon bounces directly from foe to foe instead of returning to you each time, allowing you to "chain" the attacks around an intervening obstacle that provides cover or concealment (but not full cover or full concealment - you still have to be able to see all the targets). At 10th BSB level you can do the Whirlwind Attack thing against every foe within max range of your thrown weapon - but all the attacks originate from your position, you can't combine this with the "bounce around the tree" effect from the 5th level ability.

What happens if the weapon you are using is a Net or Harpoon (even better!)???
