Recluce is a must I love the balance of magic in the series. Also it has a place for steam ships,and rifles.
A Song for Arrabonne by Guy Gavriel Keye could story by a good author.
Also a correction on the above post.
Bardic Voices by Mercedes Lackey does not take place in her normal setting at least I think.

Star Guard By Andre Norton - Awesome Sci-fantasy book placing a hired mercenary troop trained in the use of swords, and other melee weapons, on a barbarian world and running them through another races fight. Would be a good setting for using T20, or Dragonstar.
