Books Bought on Reviews/Recommendations?

Have you bought anything based of En World reviews or recommendations?

I've picked up the Book of the Planes from Mongoose for example, based on some examples and discussions I've had with Psion on the board over his River of Worlds campaign.

1. I got Grim Tales simply based on what the writers were saying about it here on the forums.

2. I got A Magical Medieval Society based on people's recomendations here on the boards, as well as various reviews.

And, not surprisingly, both books are amazingly great, and my game would be much the worse without them.

I just purchased The Black Company campaign setting based on the excellent review that was written about it here, as well as the discussions that have been going on in the d20/OGL forum.

Almost all of my purchases are informed by EnWorld discussions and/or reviews. Some products that I have specifically grabbed because of EnWorld praise include Grim Tales, Silverthorne's Book of Templates Delux, Denizens of Avadnu, Monster's Handbook, and Necromancer's Legacy. There are probably half a dozen more that hadn't been on my radar before EnWorld.

There was a thread/poll on here that had listed the best book for Mass combat rules. When I find that thread I'm going to buy the book that was listed as the best.

Just bought Blood and Guts based on reviews. Bought my friends Oriental Adventures and the Draconomicon based on Enworld recommendations too. Thanks Enworld!

I tend to check out EN World discussion and reviews about anything I'm going to buy or are on the fence about. The only exception was Hamunaptra, because I was positively going to buy it anyway and didn't want to read anything that would make waiting for it worse :) There are only a couple of books I've bought that weren't on the radar before I read about them here though - Magical Medieval Society (both), Grim Tales, and Elements of Magic.

Virtually all of my gaming purchases are affected by EN World reviews. I read the reviews for almost every FFG and Bastion product and governed my responses to the sales accordingly.

As I was already getting a good bit from Bastion, I decided to give Oathbound a try. Now I'm coming up with ways to get my PCs there.

Yes, and I actually wish Psion physical harm now because of all the money he has caused me to spend (at least he has been right most of the time!)
