Bookshelf suggestions?

IKEA Billy. I think there are enough options in that system to fit all your storage needs. At least around here IKEA is one of the cheapest ways to get acceptable quality stuff. It might not look like Rolf Benz but it does the job.

I would second this one. Contrary to the structural concerns some people have expressed, I have a 8 year-old 78" Billy shelf that is loaded with books- computer reference books, university text books, hardbacks, giant softbacks, you name it- and has shown no sides of bowing or slumping. It has also survived two moves (involving being hauled up and down several flights of stairs) without taking any damage. It is about $80 new these days (I think) and can store a ton of stuff.

If you have a corner where the shelf can be placed in you can think about getting the corner modules for it. They are not as wide as the standard modules so there you could put in the really heavy stuff like all the hardcovers and the fully stuffed box sets.

Edit says: Right is the standard width module, left is the module which is a bit less wide. I also used those top modules to add one more level to put stuff in. The corner module does not have that module as you can see.

I'd like to add that one of my Billys has sagged a little under the weight of my gaming books. It's the 80cm version, and the sag is no more than a few millimetres, though. On the whole, I'm pretty happy with my two rows of Billys.
