AGGEMAM said:Spring Attack does not require a standard action, it requires an attack action.
Artoomis said:Okay, let's try this:
Normal action:
Readied action - "I'll attack moster (with the big reach) if he starts to move towards our wizard"
The monster moves towards the wizard.
Character Partial Charges the monster (moving 30 feet plus an attack), provoking an AoO from the reach of the monster as the character closes in.
With Spring Attack:
Readied action - "I'll attack moster (with the big reach) if he starts to move towards our wizard"
The monster moves towards the wizard.
Character Partial Charges the monster (moving 30 feet plus an attack), avoiding an AoO from the reach of the monster as the character closes in.
I don't see how you can allow a charge to work with Spring Attack and not a Partial Charge. The Spring Attack takes no time to resolve - you only to have an attack plus a move to use it. A partial charge is an attack plus a move!

I see what you're saying. I'll have to ask my DM what his ruling is on spring attacking with a partial charge. He laid down the law pretty early on what could and couldn't be done in his campaign with a spring attack.
Stalker0 said:My only question about this is whether a hasted move after a partial charge is legal if its not in a straight line. I would say no, so you couldn't charge in with an attack, then attack and spring back.

Ah. If you're talking about how this works in your campaign, then that's a different story.
Answer: However your DM says it works!

The Sage says (in e-mail, but see the FAQ entry above as well) that to use Spring Attack you must move before or after the attack.
