Boromir Death Simulator

My Boromir evidently had some weak sauce before the fight: He only killed 15 orcs. Only two with daggers, though. Maybe he got a lot of the tough ones ...

Thx!

About how many orcs should a 10th level fighter be able to face in consecutive one-on-one fights until the fighter goes down?

I have no idea.

For Boromir, it appears to be 20-30. ;)

To see how this can play out using [all the] AD&D1 rules:
AD&D1 Combat Exercise

I thought I had posted that on ENWorld, too, but I can't find it around here.

Yrag has exceptional stats for a 1E character (or any edition, for that matter).
Yrag was a Gary Gygax PC. All of Gygax's player characters had many high stats. The stats for Yrag are taken from the adventure module his co-DM (Rob Kuntz) wrote for him - Mordenkainen's Fantastic Adventure. Heck, you should see Mordenkainen's stats!

So, I got "punched" by an orc with a battleaxe and "slapped" by one with a warhammer, and then got "mauled" for nine points by an orc with a dagger, lol...

The butt of a battleaxe could punch. Warhammer - maybe a glancing blow is a slap? There's just no excuse for a dagger that mauls, though.

Great simulator! Very, strangely, interesting.

Makes me realize though: those orcs were a little too Hollywood-badguy. Meaning, they didn't behave like orc warriors, they behaved like suicidal imbeciles. At least storm troopers take cover...
