Bottled Imp Games presents The Lords of the Night: Zombies

HI

Well i have read most of the book now when i playtested it and i can tell you this:

When you will read about those zombies you will never think about a zombie what you have thought about them until today, this book is filled with all kinds of powers, ideas and stories and more cool things that just make the zombie something that he had to be in all of those years.

Now when you will think about a zombie you won't think about a walking dead corpse that you can kill without much of a problem.

Those zombies are Scary, powerful, new and cool.

You will have all kinds of new zombies and your players won't know what they are or what kind of powers they have.

For the evil groups that use zombies as minions this is another great addition.

Now you won't use a zombie as meat cannon, now a zombie will be more equivalent to a normal human in terms of power and even more.

You will also be able to create your zombies as you see fit with all kinds of modifications.

Overall it is a Great book and defenitly one that you should buy because it's going to help you and your GM to improve your games.

Here's a non-zombie question for the blokes at Bottled Imp Games: Will we ever see a hardcover comprising the better parts of LotN: Vampires, etc.? Not that it wasn't all great, but I imagine a revised hardcover with tighter text and general streamlining would be nice to have. :)

Hi Selvarin :) We really, Really, REALLY want to do this (and have considered it many times). But we're a (practically unknown) new company and a hardcover could be great, or it could prove utterly disastrous to us.

In this highly competitive time for D20 companies, everything depends on sales. If Zombies and Powers of Light do well, expect to see a hardcover with all the stuff we had to delete, plus updated rules for everything and a setting, at the end of the year :)

Fingers crossed, eh

Considering the quality of BIG's current releases the prospect of them ever releasing a Hardcover, bringing top-notch content in a superbly superior format would quite simply be the best thing ever.

Having seen the cover art for Zombies it would look amazing on the front of a glossy hardcover.

Thanks Nox. You're making me quite blush...

Anyway - here's some of Scott's art, to keep you going... I think it's rather good.

The Art of Scott Purdy

We'll have a big preview in about a month when the book goes to print.

Thanks Stuart,

I have to say this book for me was one hell of a challenge, for one thing I did the majority of the internal art, and the other reason being I painted it all in greyscale in Painter...... something I'd never done before at the time. So I'm proud of what I did for this book, Stuart really pulled out the stops to push me as far as he could to get the images he wanted.... although to be honest sometimes I could've killed him for it ;)

The artists in the book to my knowledge are Thom Scott (internals) and Jon Hodgson whos cover is gorgeous to look at! Jon really catches the mood perfectly, kudos to him for pulling it off :)

I won't talk about the actual writing as I'm no expert on that, although I love the flavour text, it goes hand in hand with the artwork...

Some more art to see soon I believe... so over to Stupot the Stupendous! ;)

Cheers all,
Scott.

So what happened to Powers of Light?

Hey there HM.

*Damn* I wish you hadn't asked that. :heh:

Actually. I'm rushing like a really zippy monster with haste cast upon it to get Powers of Light done for GenCon Indy.

There will be a press release in about 2 weeks. If I manage it.

But it's looking very promising indeed :)

So....... you'll be gracing us with your presence this year at GenCon? :D

Since Zombies wasn't announced on your upcoming releases page, are there going to be more surprises? :D

You know, I *KNEW* there was something I hadn't done... ;)

Well, as for surprises. There's lots in the pipeline (including a novel), but I want to make sure that we can release books when we say we're going to, so that means letting you know about them a few months before they're released. Believe me Powers of Light is coming. And it's gonna be cool...

And, yep. We'll be at GenCon - shaking our booty and promoting our new game Ascendant. We've already set up some DMs to run a championship Darkness Rising competition.
