[BoVD] Diseases

Onysablet

First Post
Hi! :)

Some of my players got infected by the life blindness disease of the BoVD. Some Vilewight did the trick, hehehe (they still believe it was a simple Mohrg).
Now I've separated them one by one and described what they see... nothing alive. They are in a large city, they wake up and they see there is no animals, no people walking by the streets, no birds singing, total silence... just wind's sound. Where there was grass now there is nothing but dust.
But now I've come with a problem. What can they do and cannot? Does other people see them? How? They treat the other people as incorporeal creatures? And if one of them says "I'll go and stole [put something important here]"... do he other people see them, right? And what if that people want to touch them or carry them to another place?
I found that disease was an interesting situation to put my players in (and they don't even have a clue what can it be... they are all alone on their own ;)). But I've come with these problems... Any help, please? How could you handle them?

Thanks in advance!!! ;)

Bye! :)

I would rule what the disease says: all living crature, even plants, are considered invisible, silent and odourless. I don't think it was meant to deprive sick characters of touch sensations.

Others definitely see them. It might not be a good idea to steal that important something :D

Other people can see them.

And they are definitly affected by other people through touch.

But they can't see what it is that is touching them. So they walk into people, but can't see, them, can't hear them swearing at them, nor react when they pull a knife on them.

Instead, they just keep on trying to go out the door

"there seems to be something blocking your way forward. It isn't solid, it appears to yield when you push against it. Feeling around, it seems to be a kind of incomplete invisibile barrier of some sort. Apparently it moves, because you no longer feel the resistance to your touch."

Some player may realise it was a person blocking the way, and try to communicate:

"you try to talk to your invisible companion. You hear no reply. You turn around and talk louder. You feel your arms being held in a vice-like grip, yet no one, or nothing answers your calls. You struggle briefly, trying to break the grip of the aggressor. You succeed, but more invisible beings seem to be present. They try to grapple you to the floor. You throw them off you. You charge for the doorway, knocking something over, just outside the door.

In the empty street, you see a little whirlwind of dust play across the sidewalk."
