Branching Out from Fantasy

Savage Worlds is a great system for anything from cavemen to far future. It's not precisely "rules lite", but it is "rules efficient" - everything is there for a reason, and it covers a TON of ground.

*facepalm*

How could I forget Traveller? That was my 2nd RPG! I have it in several systems besides the original.

And yes, a second for Spaceship Zero.

Hrm, Burning Wheel doesn't seem to get any loving anymore. How come?

And Kunimatyu, that's probably the best description of Savage Worlds I've ever seen.

Do you like the 4E Engine? Perhaps then Gamma World would work for you when it comes out this fall?
I more or less like the 4e engine (or, rather, it seems to work better than any other system I've encountered so far), so I will in all likelihood be checking out Gamma World when it debuts. I'm excited for it; brings back memories of the Fallout games for me.

I'll be sure to check out some of the suggestions here in the meantime, though. Feng Shui sounds particularly interesting. I've never been particularly interested in the martial arts genre, but I just looked it up on Wikipedia, and it seems like a solid game with a cool setting.

Also, it recently occured to me that a supers game might be really, really cool, so I'll check out both HERO and M&M and see which one I like best. And considered the support for Savage Worlds, that'll likely be next on the list. Those few sessions of AFMBE I played did make me hungry for a zombie game that works, so maybe I'll see if Savage Worlds can be adapted to that purpose.

I'm really enjoying Desolation right now. Unfortunatly it is a Fantasy game and I feel you need custom dice (we are using the heroscape attack dice) to make it flow smoothly. It is really simple and fun when using the heroscape dice though.

Most people I know went from D&D to Shadowrun but I wouldn't call Shadowrun a simple system.
