Ben Robbins of the Ars Ludi blog has passed the word that Major David Wesely will be at Gen Con this year, mostly at the National Security Decision Making Game but willing to run the original Braunstein scenario for interested players.
Links from that post detail the history of Braunstein and its connection to Blackmoor and thus D&D, and are well worth following. I can personally attest that Wesely is a fascinating speaker with much to say about the really old days. However, in '08 and '09 I missed out on the Braunstein re-creations. To keep that from happening again, I am hoping to rally players specifically for an initial meetup in the National Security Decision Making Game area on Thursday from 2-4 pm, with the goal of planning the game for Saturday from 12-4.
Honesty compels me to note that Maj. Wesely has made himself available for most any time as demand dictates; these are just the times I'm available, which is why I'm trying to generate demand for them in particular.
