The 6 runes are based off of the different types of True Giants. What kind of Runes would you add? Runes inspired by other giant types (like Death or Ettin), or something else?
Specific runes would need to be worked out. I like the subclass and concept but the number of choices seems limited and could be expanded.

I would change the levelgating to a minor rune, lesser rune, greater rune, master rune at each subclass level and give one of each of those rune types to each giant type.

Give the fighter 2 minor, 2 lesser, 1 greater, and 1 master rune as they level.

Purple dragon knight of course. Along woth an update. I could also settle for cavallier, but they also need updates to their ability usage. Stat mod per day looks very grim compared to the battlemaster who does all they can but better...

All of this makes sense, and I completely understood.

It also has nothing to do with your claim that the Champion can't change without a UA
Because it has already passed the playtesting stage and has high enough satisfaction scores.

It's a matter of levels of change.

The Champion and Brute are currently both simple. Only one of them is not pass the stage where major changes could put it out of passing satisfaction levels.

It seems a lot of people aren't understanding that assignment.

It's not going to be anything that needs any sort of work beyond minor text cleanup. That puts a lot of fighter subs at disadvantage.

They are not redoing the brawler
They are not designing anything new that would need testing
PDK needs a wholesale redesign.
Brute never made it out of UA the first time.
Every Xanathar printed sub that made the jump to the PHB has ended up having UA work done to it (Zealot, Glamour, gloom stalker, celestial). Only Tasha subs have made it through "as printed" (Stars, clockwork, aberrant, fey wanderer)
Echo knight is explicitly tied to durnamancy/Exandria.
Gunslinger was never official.

Considering they aren't going to test fighter subs, our options end up one of the two Tasha subs or a Xanathar that isn't getting work done to it. Of those options, I think the Tasha ones have the best bet. But if WotC has done anything this UA cycle, it's be unpredictable.

The Jock. Secondary stat is Charisma, gets extra saving throws, intimidation abilities, can use reactions to shut down spellcasting, and gives team buffs when they defeat opponents.

The Chugger. They drink beer, then turn into the Brawler and want to fight everyone in the tavern.

DM: You and your party are assembled in the local watering hole, when a stranger approaches the party. Oh it appears Anibrios is beating up the NPC patron meant to fund the next quest. Suddenly another anonymous stranger approaches your group...Anibrios, NO!

Anibrios: Natural 20, I put the wizened old man into a full nelson then pile drive him.

DM: Suddenly another other anonymous stranger approaches your group...oh no not again....
