That tripped me up too. It’s because of the Potent Dragonmark feat from Eberron: Forge of the Artificer.

Potent dragonmark at 6th lvl?

Alright, thanks for explaining. That does make it rather necessary for the build to be taken at 6, despite the suggestion of swapping it around with Fey Touched

Actually, before anything else, I'd pick mage slayer.
Your fighter is stopped by the sleep spell. Fey touch does not really do anything for you.

Fey touched gives you hex. Its quite good on an EK.

Not if you concentrate on CME.

And not if your wisdom save sucks.

A simple sleep will take you out of the fight. Incapacitated on a save will break concentration. And if you are dominated, it is even worse.

Fighters have one get out of jail card, but it is not bad to have a second one handy.
Out level 6 fighter was happy she chose mage slayer in the very first fight.
