Brett Favre retires

I've got so many memories of watching Brett play. I was lucky enough to see him play at Lambeau Field, over a dozen times.

He sometimes got a pass from some people for making bad plays, but he was one of the greatest competitors the league ever knew, and he brought joy and enthusiasm to a game where there's too many jaded players. He retires owning all of the significant career passing records (including, alas, the career interception record).

As someone who lives just outside of Detroit proper, I have been raised to hate Green Bay; and I do with all my heart. But it was fun watching Farve play... to bad it was for Green Bay.

Now two of my favorite NFL QBs have retired: Aikman and now Favre.

As a Minnesotan I'm obligated to take extreme enjoyment in this news. Maybe now that Farve's gone we'll actually beat you guys with that craptacular QB of ours.
