Ok what the shows that get rewritten for U.S.A. tv. Ex Office, Whose line is anyway? etc
A few that spring to mind: Coupling, Dear John, Red Dwarf, As If.

Sometimes we get the US version shown over here too. For example, a couple of years after Dear John finished, we got 'Dear John USA'. Although to be honest I didn't bother to watch it.

Wasn't Coupling a copy of Friends?
Well, it was a sit-com, and it had characters who were friends, but apart from that... :p

Seriously, I never got a particularly Friends vibe from Coupling. IMO, it was a very British kind of a programme.

One show that no one seemed to like, but my wife and I loved, was Coupling. The American remake was HORRIBLE (lasted one episode, which I watched and can see why), but the original British run of the two seasons (series?) was hilarious to us. Richard Coyle was great in that series - mostly comic timing.

In format, yes (bunch of friends hang in the neighborhood pub and get into stupd situations), but the material was a heck of a lot better, to us - and there's a lot of humor that wouldn't have made it by american censors.

I love(d) Coupling when it aired on German TV. Unfortunately, the current broadcaster for it isn't available on Cable, so I haven't seen it in a while, except for the few occassions where I was at home by my parents (who have satellite)...
