Couldn't really get into the rest of that series, but in any case that was an alternate MU, and not the mainstream one.

More correct to say that's a future of the Marvel Universe, but whether or not it's the future isn't set in stone, since there are plenty of other comics set in the future that don't match that (just look at the 2099 stuff).

Wasn't there a lot of stuff that was just plain different from the mainstream MU, though? I was pretty sure that Ross/Krueger's take on the Celestials (for example) is different from what has been established in the 616 universe, not to mention the Asgardian/Olympian/Etc. gods.

Could be wrong, though. Haven't read through Earth X in a while. Maybe I'll dig 'em up later...

Mar-Vell has only been resurrected in dreamscapes or in Legions of the Unliving (which doesn't really count, as they're still dead). The one time he was actually resurrected as a living being was in a backup story in an issue of Cosmic Powers Unlimited, when his nemesis Thanos used the Reality Gem to resurrect him to ask him some questions. He was sent back into his state of unliving at the end of that.

Mar-Vell has stayed pretty dead in the MU otherwise.

His dead body was used to attack Adam Warlock in a crappy Warlock Mini-Series a few years back. For a mindless & decaying coupse, Mar-Vell's body sure could kill people pretty well. :p
