Andrew makes a home video of Buffy's exploits.


Thoughts on the episode (with obligatory spoilers)...


First I would like to comment that I thought the episode did little to further the storyline. If this truely is the end of the series then filler episodes like these are really wasting precious time at developing a satisfying resolution. Filler episodes this late in the season make me nervous as it increases the possibilty of a lame ending since there isn't enough time to fully develop the plot.

I also thought the process by which the Seal of Ubervamps was "deactivated" was quite contrived and not overly satisfying.

But...

...the episode was quite entertaining. Andrew frickin' cracks me up everytime he opens his mouth. I did enjoy seeing an episode expand on his character and recent past, I only wish it was done sooner. I thought on a whole, the episode was well crafted and fun to watch. It did have a few other interesting moments (like Ayna and Xander sharing a "moment" and Woods taking an opportunity to stake Spike) but they were all convincingly wrapped up with the Andre story.

Even with my first few comments I give the episode an 8/10!

I thought it was an entertaining episode that left me wanting more plot development. But it got Andrew's "redemption" out of the way, so that story line is cleaned up.

This was exactly the opinion of my girlfriend and I as we watched the episode last night. All we've had since this whole storyline started is a bunch of filler and buffy acting like a consummate bitch. Its tiresome.

Compare that with the current Angel arc, where every episode has been interesting, fantastic television that seems to be progressing just right.

Just my $0.02CDN.

That has been the sentiment voiced by many of my Buffy/Angel watching friends. I have to admit that Angel has been the more gripping show so far, but I am ever hopeful for Buffy.

Even though I have not seen this episode, I could not agree more.

Andrew frickin' cracks me up everytime he opens his mouth.

His showing off of the "Big Board" last week when Buffy was giving the Principle a tour of the "Facility" was hilarious. Not sure how many people may have caught it but I laughed my ass off when, while Buffy and Wood were walking away, Andrew even threw in "Where do we turn in reciepts?" to recoup his expenses for fashioned the make-shift map.

My thoughts on this episode:

Andrew has a crush on Xander. Ain't that sweet.

Yes, wood tried to stake Spike. Only a sudden intervention from a crazy student kept it from happening.

For a minute there, I was convinced Buffy was gonna bleed Andrew to death. You go, girl.

Anya and Xander. Who's ready to lay money on whether or not they will get a quickie marriage just before they go fight the final battle?

This was clearly Johnathan, Andrew, and Warren's tale. I loved their scenes together.

On the contrary, I think this take was somewhat necessary. Andrew needed to face what he really did - he kept couching it in terms of heroic tales - when really, he got scared and put his life over his friend's. He needed to face who he really was, if he was going to be any help to anyone. It also made a massive move of resolution between Xander and Anya - those two need to realize that when it all comes down to it, they need to love each other like each day is the last - 'cause it may very well be.

Overall, I liked it. The neat thing about this season is that even the filler episodes have some major plot development behind them.

Really liked this ep. In fact, if I was in one of those emotional moods, it may have shook a tear outa me. Many of my friends have commented on what they think to be Andrew's terrible acting. Personally, I think he does a fine acting job, (sometimes it takes a real good actor to play a guy like Andrew so well) but this ep. was one of the best.
Also really liked that scene where Wood almost staked Spike.
One more thing; my friend called me up ask if I could explain what it was that hit the office window at the school. Since I had been eating dinner when it happened and made even me a little queesy, I mercifully told her it was tomatoes.

andrew reminds me of steven erkle, you have to be a good actor to be that bad ... I think that made sense.

Angel has always seemed a little more grown up to me, but I like both shows (when does a new angel air again?)
