Buffy question

Season 2's Big Bad is kind of a three way thing: starts out with Spike/Drusilla, then Angelus, then... whatever that demon was called. The one that 'cannot be killed by any weapon forged.'

Personally, I love the way that one ended. :cool:

Akothla (I've never actually seen it spelled, but that's what it sounded like).

Akothla was one of the most powerful demons ever encountered, actually. I haven't seen anything that comes close, and I'm pretty fanatical about the Buffyverse. (Maybe in Angel season 4 - not screened here yet. But I doubt it.)

<puts on Buffy-geek hat>
Actually, Acathla was the demon in the rock that Angel tried to awaken (Becoming I and II). The demon who couldn't be killed by any weapon forged was The Judge and was in Surprise and Innocence.

Acathla wasnt so much a powerful bad guy as a nasty magical item. His living existance ends the world, but he doesn't really qualify as a big bad IMHO becuase all he doesnt internationally weild power to accomplish goals.

D'or! You are correct. The Judge was indeed the uncuttable engine of destruction in question. Why don't they have demons like that any more?

...They ran out of rocket launchers?

With The Initiative setting up in town the year after? A giant underground military base full of special weapons designed solely to fight demons?

Ahem.

Which begs the question, Who would win in a fight, Adam or the Judge?
