[Buffy RPG] $70?!

Witch Doctor

First Post
Went to my NSFLGS (Not so Friendly Local Gaming Store) and started perusuing the RPGs on hand. Let me note that my LGS is more comic book based, awith a little section for gaming.

Anyway, I came across a beige book with a neat-looking 'B' on the front. So out of curiocity, i picked it up,a nd to my plesent suprise was the Buffy RPG.

First, I must say that I liked it a lot. Lots of color, nice text, and definitely wasn't your run-of-the-mill RPGs, just by the way it was written.

However, when I turned it over to see how much is was, I was shocked beyond all reason when I saw the $69.99 sales tag.

Is this the normal? How can they charge this much for one book and make a profit?

Ayup. Just like the few leather-esq Palladium and White Wolf books I have. Collectors Edition books general start at 50 and go up to 70-80.

Technicaly, however, this should be in General... Buffy is neither D20 nor OGL.

Yeah, the normal book's $30-something.

The standard corebook is $40.

The limited edition corebook has as SRP of $65, but Ive seen it sold at $80, especially now that its out of stock. We only printed 1000 units of the LEs.

The Slayer's Handbook and Monster Smackdown are each $30.00 and have LEs as well that have an SRP of $55.00, Ive seen them sell close to $75.00. We still have a few left.

The Magic Box sourcebook is $27.00 and the Buffy Director's Screen is $20.00.

Most good game stores have these in stock, if you cant find them you can order them directly from us at:

Thanks for the interest.

Great books all around. All of them are full color and all but the Magic Box is harbound. Great quality and research went into these books. I eagerly await the release of Angel.
