What Genre Do You Wish Inaugurated TTRPGs?

I've always been a sci-fi fan foremost, with fantasy coming second.

True for me as well, not that I hold anything against D&D, Tolkien, or whatever. My beginning of playing was D&D in 1979, though sci-fi was always there.

What an interesting question.
For me, it's hard to say. The lines between different subgenres of fantasy feel much less stark than between those in the broad Sci-Fi tent. You can tell Conan stories or Middle Earth stories or stories inspired by Greek myth all in one system much more easily than you can drift between cyberpunk, Giant Mecha, and interstellar space adventures, at least in my experience. But that may be due to DnD flattening the fantasy curve for so long. I think that if there had not been D&D that often tried to be all fantasy to everyone, the different subgenres of fantasy would feel more distinct in the TTRPG space.

But to throw my hat in the ring, if not Fantasy, then Sci Fi makes the most sense in terms of existing footprint in the geek mindspace.

Ahem. Slipstream meta-fiction is slipstream fiction that self-consciously examine the elements of fiction and the tropes of slipstream fiction that focuses the reader to remind them that they are reading slipstream fiction.

Well, I happen to know the greatest* author of slipstream meta-fiction, DEREK!!!!!! He self-published a 500 page book of slipstream meta-fiction and always has it with him. Whenever DEREK!!!!! sees someone reading slipstream fiction, he thwacks them with his own book and shouts, "UR READING A SLIPSTREAM FICTION BOOK!!!!! IM GOING TO KEEP TROPING YOU WITH MY BOOK!!!!!!!"
